LPN-To-RN Track
The LPN-to-RN track is for students who currently possess a valid LPN license and would like to become a Registered Professional Nurse.

The LPN-RN program track is offered in the evening. Weekend clinical options are available based on availability. Evening students start at 5:30PM and end approximately 11:30PM. Weekend clinical experience start at 7AM and end at 7PM.

Minimum Requirements To Apply

2. You must possess a valid, unencumbered LPN license.

3. You must be a Union County College student to apply.

4. Set up a meeting with Academic Advising.
They will review your transcript, transfer in any credits that are appropriate, and map out any classes that are still required to take. They can be reached at nursing@ucc.edu or in person at 12 W. Jersey St., Elizabeth NJ.

5. A minimum Union County College GPA of 2.5 is required
If student does not have a Union County College GPA, the high school GPA will be used if student is within a year from high school graduation.

Applications are reviewed using a ranking score calculation that is based on your Union County College GPA, and your grade points. For students who do not have a UCC GPA, your application will be considered but please be aware that applicants with a UCC GPA will be ranked higher.

Pre-Requisite Courses
Prospective students who have successfully completed the following pre-requisite courses will be considered for admission before students who are in progress of completion: Biology 105, Biology 106, Biology 108, Chemistry 114, Psychology 101, Psychology 204, Sociology 101, Humanities (6 credits), English 101 or English 112.

Successful completion of these courses is required before progressing to NURE 212.

A minimum grade of C is required for all science curriculum courses. Transfer credit for any of the Trinitas School of Nursing curriculum courses must be posted to the student's Union County College transcript prior to application submission.

Note: Applicants with two or more nursing course failures from another nursing program will not be considered for admission.

When To Apply
Applications are accepted between January 5-March 5 for the Fall semester.

Admission notifications can be expected by April 30.

Transfer Credit from Other Colleges and Universities
If a student completes any applicable science or general education courses at another college or university, it is the student's responsibility to ensure Union County College receives official transcript evidence for the corresponding transfer credit to be entered on the Union County College transcript. Please also note the following:

> Official transcripts from other colleges must be sent to the Union County College Admission office for evaluation.

> The transcript evaluation process may take up to 6 weeks to be completed with the posting of equivalent courses to your Union County College transcript.

> The nursing program does not accept transfer credits for nursing coursework from other academic institutions.

> Students who have completed college level courses at an accredited college or university will be evaluated for transfer credit for up to 36 credits.

> A minimum grade of "C" or 70 is required to receive transfer credit for all general education courses.

> While transfer credits are accepted, students who have taken nursing curriculum courses at Union County College (UCC) will have priority ranking for NURE 211 invitation consideration based on a UCC GPA and quality (grade) point calculation.

> Transfer applicants with two or more failures in a nursing course at another college or nursing school will not be considered for admission to the Trinitas School of Nursing.

Relationship with Union County College
Trinitas School of Nursing, in partnership with Union County College, conducts a Cooperative Nursing Program that awards students a Diploma in Nursing from Trinitas School of Nursing and an Associate in Science degree from Union County College upon successful completion of the program.

Academic Requirements
Students are required to maintain a minimum grade of "C+" in each nursing course and a "C" grade for all science courses. A minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) is required for entrance into all Nursing (NURE) courses. A minimum GPA of 2.50 is required for all students re-entering the nursing sequence. All nursing students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 while enrolled in the nursing program.

Students are expected to complete the LPN-To-RN track within six (6) semesters (including the Summer Session) of entering NURE 211.
